Scheduled for 16 March 2024 for an online session and 30 March 2024 for a physical session, AIM 2024 seeks to illuminate the path to a medical career for pre-university and high school students, irrespective of their level of experience.

Organised by the Medical Society of Universiti Malaya (UM MEDSOC), the AIM workshops are designed to offer an immersive and comprehensive experience by blending interactive sessions with hands-on programs, allowing participants to explore the realities of medicine.

AIM aims to equip students with the knowledge and experiences necessary to make informed decisions about their future careers while providing insights into the healthcare system in Malaysia.

The online AIM program, scheduled for 16 March 2024, will feature sessions such as mock Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs) and discussions on the pathway of a doctor, preparing students for the challenges of entering the field of medicine.

On the other hand, the physical AIM session on 30 March 2024 will offer hands-on experience in essential medical skills such as disaster management and stethoscope usage, along with many other programs in store for the day.

Moreover, AIM also serves as a fundraising initiative for the Baktisiswa project, led by medical students at Universiti Malaya, which aims to enhance health and well-being in rural communities in Malaysia. All proceeds from AIM will be allocated towards advancing and implementing this vital project.

“We believe that providing pre-university students with insights into the medical field and allowing them to explore and validate their interests in medicine is crucial for their future careers,” said a spokesperson for AIM 2024. “Through AIM, we aim to not only inspire the next generation of medical professionals but also contribute to the betterment of healthcare in Malaysia.”

Registration for the online AIM session closes on 13 March 2024. Interested participants may stay updated on further details by visiting the Baktisiswa Instagram page @baktisiswa_.
